Naturally Heavenly Chocolates
My name’s Tina and I’m behind Naturally Heavenly Chocolates. Vegan chocolates made with raw cacao, no artificial flavours, refined sugars, additives, or preservatives nor soy and gluten. All handmade by me, in a small Staffordshire village between Lichfield and Rugeley.
I love chocolate! But in Summer 2020 I was diagnosed with two autoimmune conditions causing 75+ symptoms. I soon realised that dairy, gluten soy, grains, nightshades and e-numbers were simply going to be out of bounds for me if I wanted to feel better. But I missed chocolate, and when I looked for alternatives in the ‘free-from’ aisles nothing was suitable and, frankly, they didn’t taste great nor feel indulgent.
Raw cacao, which reduces inflammation and aids digestive health, had been part of my healing routine for a while, when I started to experiment in making chocolate with it along with other natural ingredients. I loved them – they are tasty and indulgent, just what I wanted. After all, those with intolerances should be able to feel as though they can indulge too!
As lockdown eased, I started enjoying my chocolates in front of others – people enjoyed them, wanted some to gift to family and friends, and encouraged me to consider selling them. This is where my business – Naturally Heavenly Chocolates – was born; I launched on 1 November 2021 and haven’t looked back. I now have a growing audience of vegan and diabetic customers enjoying my chocolates, as well as those who are ingredient aware or fancy something different.
Since launching in November 2020 I have gone on to win a design competition for a rebrand in January 2021, upgrade packaging to be fully biodegradeable, suitable for composting on your at-home compost heap and be chemical free; using food safety approved cleaning products.
